The first race in the BC Downhill Cup series takes place in Kamloops at the Ranch bike park.

Kamloops is a great start to the BC racing season, as it’s typically dry, warm and sunny, and this season was no different.

The Sea Otter Classic traditionally marks the end of winter for the team at T2R-Distributors, as it’s typically the event where we get to say good bye to the wintery weather in Whistler and head down to the sun and warm weather of Monterey in California, and this year was no different.

Here is an edit from the Team Commencal Riding Addiction crew at the first World Cup round of 2012 held in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. 

The edit features Myriam Nicole, Thibault Ruffin and Gaetan Ruffin, all riding the Commencal Supreme DHv3. 

Being a distributor in the mountain bike industry inevitably means that you get to meet a number of the famous sponsored riders and attend some cool events; however this normally means that you end up in a tertiary location manning a stand and not really seeing any of the event taking place. This was not the case when T2R Distributors attended the Bearclaw Invitational 2011 Mount Washington Bike Park on Vancouver Island.

A  big part of the mountain biking scene in British Columbia is the BC Cup series of downhill races. The first race on the BC Cup calendar for 2011 was ‘Race the Ranch’ at Kamloops over the weekend of the 23^rd and 24^th of April.

Sunday is the main race day at the Sea Otter Classic, and as Dan was competing in the XC race  which had a start time of 7am to avoid the heat of the day, but being our last day in Monterey, we needed to not only to get Dan to the start line in time, but we also had to pack up and check out of our hotel room first, so it was a 5am start for us all.

We arrived at the event site at about 6am. The air was cool and there was a thick mist hanging over the valley, but this soon burnt off as the sun rose over Laguna Seca.

Saturday was another hot sunny and sunny day in Monterey at the Laguna Seca race track, home of the Sea Otter Classic.

It was also the day when the first of the all new Supreme DH v3’s would be raced in North America, as T2R rider Sean Murphy was competing in the Cat 2, 25 to 29 division of the Sea Otter Classic downhill race.

The Downhill World cup season has started well for Gee with third place in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. As Gee says in the interview, "I'm pleased with that".
